This fantastic tour departs on selected Fridays from Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre at 8 am. You’ll begin your adventure by journeying north, and – soaking up the beautiful scenery – you’ll head to the cray fishing town of Port Denison. Here, you’ll stop for a sumptuous lunch overlooking the gently lapping water’s edge and the picturesque coastline of the Indian Ocean. Continuing further north, you arrive at Greenough Flats and the famous 'Leaning Trees'. These trees are regularly pummelled by strong, salt laden, southerly winds off the Indian Ocean. Their horizontal trunks will have your head slowly leaning on a 45-degree angle to get a better look and are an amazing icon of the area. Meet and greet the sleek, graceful and very playful dolphins that come in daily for a visit to their home away from home at the Western Australian Monkey Mia Reserve. This is a must-see and do for families and nature lovers alike. You’ll spend a wonderful relaxing night at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort, getting up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready and raring for another exciting day.
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll spend some extra quality time at the water’s edge, waiting for the wild dolphins that appear at regular times throughout the day to interact with people. This astonishing ritual has delighted travellers for many years. Back on board, you head for the quaint, country town of Denham for a delicious lunch and more wonderful sight-seeing. Shell beach is a sight to behold – its vivid white foreshore stretches 110 kilometres and is one of only two beaches in the world made entirely of shells.
You’ll then visit our oldest living relatives, Stromatolites. These may look like ordinary misshaped rocks but they are not quite what they appear to be. They are actually layers and layers of living organisms, built up over thousands of years to form these ancient outcrops. Travelling south to Kalbarri – known for its magnificent wildflowers and majestic rugged rocky landscapes – you’ll visit Hawks Head, one of the area’s most spectacular red river gorges in the Kalbarri National Park. You will spend your second night at the luxurious Kalbarri Edge Resort.
During day three, you’ll be homeward bound from Kalbarri to Perth, all the while exploring the truly spectacular Kalbarri deep coastal gorges, colossal cliff faces and unusually carved rocks of this, rugged, craggy, rich ochre coastline. You’ll continue travelling south, breaking for a scrumptious lunch at the rock lobster fishing village of Cervantes – the gateway to the legendary Pinnacles Desert. This amazing landscape is truly one of Mother Nature’s most mesmerising experiences. With plenty of time to stroll among the monolithic limestone spires and take photographs for your later perusal, this tour is one you will remember with pleasure for years to come. You’ll then be returned to your original pickup location, arriving back in Perth at around 7 pm.
